CASTLE LAUNCHES THE WORLDS FASTEST RISC OS COMPUTER 21st May 2001 |
Castle launched their new 300MHz version of the best selling RISC OS computer last weekend (19th & 20th May 2001) at the Wakefield Spring Show. This exciting new version of the well established Kinetic RiscPC computer ensures that new users get class leading up-to-date processing power.
Castle have achieved this breakthrough by having access to specially selected processors capable of running at 300MHz (compared to the normally available 233MHz versions). In addition, to maintain perfect performance, Castle have added solid state cooling to ensure that the Intel StrongARM processors run within a precisely controlled temperature range. This new RiscPC computer is now 14 times faster than the original RiscPC and typically 57 times faster than an Acorn A4000. This is a good indication of the ability of RISC OS products to keep pace with the performance improvements on other platforms. Jack Lillingston, Managing Director of Castle Technology Ltd commented: "Castle is proud to be at the forefront of RISC OS technology. The reliability of the Kinetic RiscPC and the features of RISC OS 4 ensure that we have an fantastic solution for any one involved with computer technology". He also pointed out that: "The original expandable design of the RiscPC has shown an exceptional ability to stand the test of time. So much so, that Castle are seeing new Kinetic RiscPC purchases from existing customers. This is a sign of the overall satisfaction of our customers". All Kinetic RiscPC computers manufactured by Castle will now run at 300MHz, and as usual Castle have stock of the computers which are available for immediate dispatch.
